New York-based television productions have been halted by the onslaught from Hurricane Sandy, reports the New York Post.

NBC stopped production on all East Coast-based shows, including "Law & Order: SVU," "30 Rock" and "Smash." The network also canceled production on syndicated daytime talk shows that tape out of Stamford, Conn., including "Maury" and "Steve Wilkos."

Other halted productions include The CW’s "Gossip Girl," ABC’s "666 Park Avenue" and CBS’s "Elementary.”

Two late-night shows — David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon — continued with taping, although "Jimmy Kimmel Live" canceled Monday’s broadcast. Kimmel, whose show is based in Hollywood, is taping this week at BAM in Brooklyn.

As reported previously, Letterman and Fallon taped Monday’s shows without audiences.
