"Veronica Mars" creator Rob Thomas is working on an adaptation of the U.K. miniseries "Metropolis" for the CW, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed.

The British series, which debuted in 2000 and aired on Granada TV, focused on a group of friends and college graduates and starred James Purefoy and Louise Lombard.

The CW’s version will focus on a group of friends who are struggling with aligning their idealistic college views with their adult lives, the story notes. Thomas will write the script and executive produce.
