ABC has ordered a full season of a new drama series, the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker reports. The program is "Nashville," starring Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere.
The series’ October premiere ratings were soft compared with the buzz around the show, the story notes. The program’s debut drew 9 million viewers and a 2.8 rating among viewers 18-49, although the show is now averaging 6 million viewers and a 2.1 rating in the demographic, the piece adds.
The show features Britton as a country singer whose career is in decline, just as her younger rival, played by Panettiere, is seeing her fame on the rise.
The network has also placed full-season orders for freshman sitcom “The Neighbors” and returning drama “Scandal,” the report notes.
