Lohan’s ‘Liz & Dick’ Delivers Modest Ratings

Lifetime’s Elizabeth Taylor biopic “Liz & Dick,” starring Lindsay Lohan as the legendary screen siren, failed to cash in on a ton of publicity for Lohan in the weeks leading up Sunday’s premiere. The Huffington Post reports that only 3.5 million viewers tuned in for the telecast.

That number compares with 6.5 million for Lifetime’s “Steel Magnolias” in October. “Liz & Dick” is the fourth most-watched original movie premiere of 2012 on basic cable, behind “Steel Magnolias,” “Drew Peterson: Untouchable” and “Abducted: The Carlina White Story.”

“Liz & Dick” has not been a hit with critics, either. Click here to read why TVWeek Open Mic blogger Chuck Ross calls the movie a train wreck.

  1. Then again who really believed that producers really cared whether Lilo could really pull off the part in the first place (duh??? as if???) save for her usefulness as a 24/7 pr chant machine drawing attention to the media fiasco the way maggots suddenly turn up at the first sight of a rotting carcass….
