A mob drama has been put into development at Cinemax, HBO’s sister network, reports Deadline.com. The hourlong drama, “Kingpin,” is from writer Chad St. John and Overbrook Entertainment, the production company run by Will Smith and James Lassiter.

The project is about a mid-level drug trafficker who is trying to get out of the business but is blackmailed back into it by a crooked DEA agent who wants to make the trafficker into a puppet kingpin, the story says.
