More low points were reached in Thursday night’s broadcast ratings, based on Nielsen overnight figures. TVbytheNumbers.com reports that NBC’s “The Voice” delivered a 3.0 average rating in the key demo of viewers 18-49, the lowest number ever for a results show.
On CBS, meanwhile, “Elementary” hit its lowest number yet in the 18-49 demo, a 2.2 average, down two-tenths from last week. And Fox’s “Glee” matched its season low with a 2.4.
The report notes that NBC’s numbers may be somewhat inflated because of an NFL simulcast in Indianapolis.
CBS still pulled out a relatively easy overall win for prime time, averaging a 3.2 rating in 18-49 to lead Fox (2.4 average), ABC (2.2) and NBC (2.1). CBS won big in total viewers, averaging 13.6 million to top ABC’s 7.1 million, NBC’s 6.0 million and Fox’s 6.0 million.
CBS continued to pull in big numbers for “The Big Bang Theory,” which was the top show of the night with a 5.0 average rating in the 18-49 demo, even though it was off from its 5.2 a week ago. Also showing continued strength was “Two and a Half Men” with a 4.0, up from a 3.6 a week earlier. “Person of Interest” matched last week’s 2.9.
ABC was paced by “Grey’s Anatomy,” which rose two-tenths from its previous original two weeks ago to deliver a 3.2 in viewers 18-49. “Last Resort” was also up slightly, rising one-tenth to a 1.4, while “Scandal” was steady with a 2.0.
On Fox, “The X Factor” held steady with a 2.3 average in 18-49, while “Glee” was down two-tenths from its previous original with its 2.4 average.
