New York City to Resume Issuing TV and Film Permits This Week

New York City will start issuing exterior permits for taping television and film projects this week, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Company Town blog.

The Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting will start handling permits for exterior locations on a case-by-case basis, but won’t allow taping at locations severely damaged by the storm, the piece adds.

"We’re confident that the TV shows and feature films that call New York City home will take this temporary adjustment in stride," the office said in a statement.

The city revoked all film permits last Monday because of Hurricane Sandy, and at least nine TV shows were affected by the shutdown, including ABC’s "666 Park Avenue" and CBS’s "Elementary."
