One of the early stars of reality television — whose 15 minutes of fame arrived well before the spotlight shone on “Survivor” winner Richard Hatch — has ended up in the same place where Hatch spent a fair amount of time: prison.

TMZ.com reports that David Rainey, who was known as "Puck" on MTV’s pioneering reality show "Real World: San Francisco," is serving time on stalking charges.

Rainey was convicted of stalking a woman earlier this year, although details about the incident are unclear, the story says. The 44-year-old former reality star committed the crime on Feb. 22, according to court documents cited in the story. He was sentenced in September to two years in prison, and turned himself in to Wasco State Prison in California on Nov. 8.

“Rainey was given 401 days credit for time served, so he’s got roughly 300 days to go,” the report notes. The piece adds that indications are Rainey violated a court order.

On "Real World," where he appeared in 1994, Puck was known for causing conflict in the house and was ultimately kicked out because of his antagonistic relationships with some housemates.

“Survivor” star Hatch ran into trouble with the Internal Revenue Service after winning $1 million on the first edition of the CBS reality franchise in 2000, and wound up serving time for tax evasion.
