The producers of ABC’s "Modern Family" reportedly wanted the mother of Ariel Winter, who plays Alex Dunphy on the show, banned from the set because of her behavior, reports TMZ.com.

Winter’s mother, Chrystal Workman, was disliked by the sitcom’s crew, producers, actors and other mothers because she allegedly berated her daughter’s physical appearance and banned her from eating anything except raw vegetables and egg whites, the story says.

That led the crew to allegedly plan to sneak the 14-year-old actress food such as grilled cheese sandwiches, the piece says.

As previously reported, Winter was removed from her home by a judge after allegations of abuse by her mother. Workman has denied allegations of physical or mental abuse.
