Something to Quack About: Offbeat Reality Show Tops Critically Acclaimed Drama in Head-to-Head Showdown

Two very different shows went head-to-head earlier this week for the honor of top-rated cable show of the night, and the win went to “Duck Dynasty” — an A&E reality show about a Louisiana millionaire family that makes duck calls — over the critically praised FX drama "American Horror Story," James Hibberd reports on EW.com’s Inside TV.

"Duck Dynasty" drew 3.6 million total viewers Wednesday night, along with a 1.7 rating in viewers 18 to 49, while "American Horror Story" attracted 2.6 million total viewers and a 1.5 rating in the demographic. Both shows air at 10 p.m. Wednesdays.

"’Duck Dynasty’ has been doing great on Wednesday nights, so this performance isn’t really shocking, but it’s fun to compare these two very different shows, apples to ducks," Hibberd writes.
