Syndicated talk shows are having a strong November sweeps period, according to national syndication ratings for the week ending Nov. 11, which were released today. The date marks approximately the midway point in the sweeps period.

Because of Hurricane Sandy, Nielsen did not release national weekly ratings for syndicated programs for the previous week.

“Dr. Phil” led the pack with a 3.2 household rating for the week — placing No. 1 for the eighth week in a row. The show was up 7% from the week ending Oct. 28. “Dr. Phil” also rose 12% in the key demo of women 25-54 to claim first place with a 1.9 average rating.

“Live with Kelly & Michael” had a 2.8 household number, up 12% from two weeks ago and matching the season high set in the show’s premiere week when Michael Strahan was revealed as Kelly Ripa’s new co-host.

“Ellen’ hit a 2.6, up 8%, the best number yet for her 10th season. “Dr. Oz” was close behind with a new season high of 2.5, up 9%. “Maury” posted the sharpest improvement of any talk show in the top 10, rising 14% to a 2.4. “Maury” also led the way in both women 18-49 (1.6) and women 18-34 (1.4).

Among new talk shows, “Katie” (1.8, down 5%) easily led the pack for the ninth straight week. “Steve Harvey” (1.3, up 8%) posted the most improvement among the rookie shows. Trailing were “Jeff Probst” (0.7, steady), “Ricki Lake” (0.7, steady) and “Trisha” (0.5, steady).
