During an interview with Fox News host Jon Scott, Pulitzer Prize-winning defense reporter Thomas Ricks declared the cable channel was “operating as a wing of the Republican Party,” prompting Scott to abruptly end the segment, reports Salon.com.

Ricks was on Fox News to discuss Sen. John McCain’s opposition to Susan Rice’s potential nomination as Secretary of State because of her comments about what happened in Benghazi. Ricks said, “Benghazi generally was hyped by this network especially. And now that the campaign is over, I think he’s [McCain] backing off a little bit. They’re not going to stop Susan Rice from being Secretary of State.”

Scott defended Fox News, saying Benghazi was not "hype." Ricks responded by saying, "The emphasis on Benghazi has been extremely political, partly because Fox was operating as a wing of the Republican Party.” At that point, Scott stopped the interview.

  1. Mr. Ricks you are supposed to ignore the wizard behind the curtain! Never bring up actual facts and truth no matter how much evidence you have or how experienced you are on the matters being discussed. You don’t want to break the illusion of a “news” channel to the 2 million sheep that normally view. Mr Ricks received the same treatment given to their own anchors on election night by Karl Rove. Yes, I know MSNBC is shilling for the democrats but I have yet to see them shut down an interview because the truth comes out.

  2. Pay attention to how much misdirection went on. It was clearly the most political, dishonest, misleading group of statements made with the assistance of the majority of the news media. You would be stating a complete different thing if a Republican was president. Get off the pulpit you are completely wrong

  3. Still living in that bubble Rick?
