CBS aired the Kennedy Center Honors last night, with David Letterman, Dustin Hoffman and Led Zeppelin among the honorees, along with ballerina Natalia Makarova and blues guitarist Buddy Guy.

One of the highlights: A high-powered “Stairway to Heaven” — with Led Zepsters Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones looking on proudly … and in some cases, tearfully.

  1. Regardless of how good the performers are (and they were great) I cannot imagine the stress of playing what is probably one of the greatest songs ever written and recorded in front of the band that wrote and recorded it. Way to go to Nancy and Ann Wilson and the entire group that performed.

  2. It is nice to see real musicians performing. Sadly the new breed of musicians focus more on hype than music and rely on electronic helpers to record and perform. This creates a very sterile industry at the major label level of today. I hope this inspires someone to practice and play an instrument. There is no greater joy.

  3. That was unreal…Jason Bonham does his Dad proud and the Wilson sisters are fantastic. No such thing as AutoTune in their world.

  4. Yeah…especially the way Wilson nails the word buyjing at the finale of the song.

  5. Simply Incredible!
