"Battlestar Galactica" executive producer Ron Moore is closing in on a 13-episode series order from Syfy for the dark thriller "Helix," reports Deadline.com.

The drama is about scientists in an Arctic research facility who investigate a possible disease outbreak and try to protect the world from an epidemic, the story says.

The order would mark a return for Moore to Syfy, which aired "Battlestar Galactica" and his prequel series "Caprica."

The cable network is finalizing a deal for a 13-episode straight-to-series order for "Helix," a strategy Syfy has been exploring that skips the traditional pilot process, the piece adds.
