HBO has renewed its movie-distribution agreement with Universal Pictures until 2022 in a potential $200 million-per-year deal that’s designed to keep ahead of Netflix, reports the New York Post.

Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. "The move by Jeff Bewkes’ HBO is the latest salvo in the battle among Netflix, HBO, Starz and other pay-TV movie providers for relevance and supremacy," the piece notes.

Netflix last month struck a deal to stream Walt Disney movies starting in 2016, boosting titles for its online streaming service. Netflix is said to be poised to bid for a similar deal with Sony Pictures, according to the report.
