BBC America hit an all-time ratings high in adults 25 to 54 with a special holiday telecast. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the cable channel’s Christmas "Doctor Who" special set a record with a 0.95 rating in the targeted demo.

The one-hour-plus program, "Doctor Who: The Snowmen," also almost matched the network’s best-ever telecast in total viewers. “Snowmen" averaged 1.43 million viewers, but fell just short of the network record held by the premiere of “Doctor Who’s” seventh season.

The special was up 54% in total viewers and 60% in the 25-54 age bracket from last year’s Christmas special, the piece notes.

The second half of the series’ seventh season returns to BBC America in the spring.
