NBC is pushing back the return of three of its most popular programs until March, with the goal of airing only new episodes for the rest of the season, reports Bloomberg.

"Grimm" will return March 8, while "The Voice" and "Revolution" will restart March 25, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said at the Television Critics Association tour on Sunday.

Under Greenblatt, NBC, the only broadcast network to boost its audience in the first part of the 2012-2013 season, has deviated from the traditional network schedule before. NBC aired new shows in August, rather than the traditional September, to take advantage of the large audiences watching NBC’s Olympics coverage, the story points out.

Greenblatt said that strategy worked, citing the success of the drama "Revolution" and the comedy "Go On."

One reason for delaying the shows’ returns until March is to give producers more time to better develop the programs, Greenblatt said, according to the story.

"The audience will find those shows,” Greenblatt said. “You can run them in a row without repeats. It’s a better long-term play for us.”
