Steven Bochco, a pioneer of the crime drama genre who created "NYPD Blue" and "Hill Street Blues," has received an order from TNT for a drama pilot, reports EW.com’s Inside TV.

The project, "Murder in the First," is set in San Francisco, and will follow season-long cases, rather than wrapping up mysteries in one episode.

The major characters will include two San Francisco Police Department homicide detectives and a Silicon Valley genius who’s the CEO of a tech firm — and a suspect — along with a defense attorney and prosecutors, the piece reports.
