T.S. Cook, Writer of ‘The China Syndrome,’ Dead at 65

Veteran film and television writer T.S. Cook, who is best known for writing the 1979 thriller "The China Syndrome," has died, reports Deadline.com. He was 65 and had battled cancer.

Cook received Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for best screenplay for "The China Syndrome," along with co-writers Mike Gray and James Bridges, the story says.

He also received an Emmy nomination in 1996 for writing "The Tuskegee Airmen," an HBO movie that starred Laurence Fishburne. His television credits include "Baretta," "The Paper Chase" and most recently "The Hive" and "NYC: Tornado Terror," with both of those airing in 2008 on Syfy.

He was a producer and writer on the series “Airwolf” in the 1980s.
