The syndicated version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" is losing former "Today" co-host Meredith Vieira, who has hosted the quiz show since its syndicated debut in 2002, reports Deadline.com.
The departure comes as Vieira hit the last year of her current contract, with Vieira deciding to move on to other things, the piece notes. A search is on to find a replacement.
Vieira has already finished taping the current season of "Millionaire," which will continue to air originals with her as host through May, followed by repeats through the summer. After that, the show will introduce a new host.
