Lifetime has cast two Oscar-winning actors in its miniseries "Bonnie and Clyde," which comes from "Smash"’s Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that William Hurt and Holly Hunter are joining the project.

The pair starred together in the 1987 film "Broadcast News." Hurt will play Frank Hamer, a Texas Ranger who tracked the outlaws, while Hunter will play Emma Parker, the mother of Bonnie Parker.

Hunter won an Oscar for best actress in “The Piano,” and Hurt took home an Academy Award for “Kiss of the Spider Woman.”

The title roles in the program haven’t yet been cast. In the Oscar-nominated film from 1967, Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty played the famous outlaws.
