One of the most sought-after actresses of the current development season has signed to play the lead in the NBC comedy pilot "Brenda Forever," reports Deadline.com.

Ellie Kemper, known for her work on NBC’s “The Office,” will play Brenda, whose past and present are shown through the character as a confident 13-year-old and as a 31-year-old woman, the story says.

NBC landed the single-camera “Brenda Forever” project after a bidding war with Fox, as previously reported.
