ABC pulled the plug on a drama series that has struggled to find an audience. Deadline.com reports that the network canceled the Anthony Edwards series "Zero Hour" after three low-rated episodes.
The network instead will air repeats of "Shark Tank" in the Thursday at 8 p.m. time slot for the next two weeks, followed by episodes of "Wife Swap."
The show was the first series for Edwards after "ER," but debuted to a lackluster 1.3 rating in adults 18 to 49, the story says. It slid in consecutive airings, and marks the latest high-profile drama from ABC to fail to take root in the Thursday 8 p.m. time period.
Other failed dramas in that time slot include "FlashForward," "Charlie’s Angels" and "Last Resort," the story notes.

8pm on Thursday is historically for comedies. It will always be tough to run a drama there. Maybe a comedic action detective show would work or something like Arrow. But serious drama always struggles at 8pm almost any night.
I watched the first episode and didn’t think it was to bad, but not a 8:00PM show.
My understanding is that 13 episodes were made. So why don’t they run them on either Friday or Saturdays at 9:00PM or 10:00PM. They might find an audience.
What’s with this premature pulling out by the nets? They used to give shows more of a chance, but they are so desperate for audience share as soon as the numbers stay law out you go..Flash Forward,” and “Last Resort” were good shows they just needed to be in the right time slot. Now we get repeats of Shark Tank.. the repeats are driving me to he cable and movie channels, they seem to have the right idea, short runs to keep costs down and some new ideas, like the shows that go canned.
