Showtime’s ‘The Vatican" has cast an actor whose portrayal of Hitler spawned dozens of Internet spoofs. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that Bruno Ganz will play Pope Sixtus VI in the project.

Ganz starred as Adolf Hitler in "Downfall," earning awards in Europe and spawning dozens of YouTube videos that re-edited a “Hitler rants” scene with different subtitles to make fun of various events.
