Producer and distributor Debmar-Mercury said it will extend production through the summer on the fourth season of the daytime talk show "The Wendy Williams Show" after a successful February sweeps, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

An additional two months of programs will be produced, the story reports.

The ratings period showed "Wendy Williams" gaining on its competition, with a 47% jump in local ratings, the story says. The show will now remain in production through June and July.

"I have the greatest fans in daytime TV, and I’m so excited to be giving fans more fun throughout the summer,” Williams said in a statement. “If it were up to me, we’d have a show every day, all year long!”

The show’s ratings gains are being attributed in part to the expansion of the "Hot Topics" segment, which the story says appeals to younger viewers.
