A female buddy comedy from a former star of “Saturday Night Live” has received a series order. EW.com’s Inside TV reports that “Broad City,” executive produced by “SNL” alum and “Parks and Recreation” star Amy Poehler, has been orderd to series by Comedy Central.

The series received an order for 10 episodes from the cable channel. The show follows two 20-something friends in New York City who are struggling to get through life, played by Upright Citizens Brigade veterans Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, the story reports.

The show, an adaptation of a Web series, will debut in 2014.

“A TV version of ‘Broad City’ was initially developed at FX in 2011, and Comedy Central ordered a pilot of the show last fall,” the report notes.
