NBC Greenlights Reality Show

NBC has unveiled plans to add a new reality competition to its prime-time schedule. EW.com’s Inside TV reports that the network greenlighted “Food Fighters,” a cooking competition.

The premise of the show, hosted by Adam Richman, is to pit the country’s top amateur cooks against a squad of six professionals.

Said NBC President of Alternative Programming Paul Telegdy: “Food Fighters combines compelling competition and game show fun with a delicious twist — giving everyday home cooks a once-in-a-lifetime chance to compete with world-class chefs. Every true home cook has at least one ‘signature dish,’ — the peach cobbler, the lasagna, that appetizer that friends beg you to bring to parties. This is a show that puts those recipes to the ultimate test and rewards the passion Americans bring to their home kitchens every day.”

No premiere date has been announced yet for the series.
