NBC reportedly is trying to lure a former network regular back into the fold to help turn things around at “Today,” but she’s not interested. TMZ.com reports that the network is eager to sign Maria Shriver to something more permanent after she made a big splash on the show earlier this week.
Shriver, who reported from the Vatican on Monday, isn’t interested in a daily job, the story reports. She has previously turned down NBC and other networks, which have approached her about doing a talk show. Because she’s busy with charity work and her children, she’s not all that eager to take on a daily job.
The piece notes that Shriver is reportedly worth $100 million, which could increase by as much as $200 million when her divorce from Arnold Schwarzenegger is final. Because of her wealth, a huge deal from a network isn’t enough to make her sign a contract, the story adds.
Shriver might appear on NBC occasionally, but isn’t likely to appear every day, the piece notes.
