Mamie Gummer, the star of the canceled CW drama series "Emily Owens MD," has been cast in a CBS drama project with Rainn Wilson of "The Office," reports Deadline.com.

The drama pilot is "Backstrom," written by "Bones" creator Hart Hanson. It stars Wilson as an offensive, irascible detective who tries to change his ways. Gummer will play the female lead, a lesbian police detective, the story adds.
