HBO has expanded the order for one of its series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the pay-cable network is extending the freshman season of “Vice” to 10 episodes, up from eight.

The documentary series had a sizable bump in its ratings for its second installment, the report notes. The show has been getting attention for its involvement in former Chicago Bulls player Dennis Rodman’s recent trip to North Korea.

The series’ season finale, set for June 14, will be focused on Rodman’s trip.

“The NBA Hall of Famer, who was part of the delegation including ‘Vice’ correspondent Ryan Duffy and three players from the Harlem Globetrotters, earned access on account of leader Kim Jong-un’s fanaticism for the 1990s Bulls dynasty,” the story reports. “’Vice’ founder and series host Shane Smith had previously reported from the isolated nation twice before but was not allowed to return on account of his criticism of the regime.”

Rodman apparently continues to have access, the piece notes, and has made plans to return to North Korea in August.

“As for ‘Vice,’ the Friday series has been performing well for HBO after its ‘Real Time with Bill Maher’ lead-in,” the report notes. “The second episode, which premiered April 12, jumped 78 percent to 931,000 viewers in its inaugural airing. Early data gives the series an average gross of 2 million viewers with the addition of DVR, HBO Go and encores.”
