HLN and the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences took the wraps off plans for the upcoming 40th Annual Daytime Entertainment Awards. The program will air live from Los Angeles on HLN on Sunday, June 16.

The ceremony will celebrate daytime programming in popular genres including talk, food shows, children’s programming, courtroom shows, game shows and daytime dramas. The telecast, originating live from the Beverly Hilton, is scheduled to air from 8-10 p.m. ET/PT.

Said Scot Safon, executive VP and general manager of HLN: “Last year, HLN’s first-ever presentation of the Daytime Emmy Awards was the No. 1 most-watched, regularly scheduled non-news broadcast in the network’s history, and received terrific viewer feedback both on-air and online. Our audiences thanked us for tapping into that vital part of American pop culture. HLN is the news channel that focuses on stories at the forefront of the American conversation, and daytime programming often tackles those same themes and stories.”

Iconic game show host Monty Hall and veteran producer Bob Stewart will be honored this year with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
