MTV Suspends Production of ‘Buckwild’ After Death of Cast Member; Possible Explanation Surfaces for Three Deaths

After the death of a cast member, MTV has suspended production of its reality show "Buckwild," reports The New York Times.

As previously reported, the body of Shain Gandee, 21, was found dead along with his uncle, David Gandee, and a third person on Monday.

The third body was identified late Monday as Donald Robert Myers, 27, a resident of the Sissonville, W.Va., area, according to Fox News. Officials said their 1984 Ford Bronco had its muffler below the surface and mud covered the car’s passenger side.

It’s possible the cabin of the car could have filled with carbon monoxide from the exhaust, if the muffler were submerged and the engine running, the story notes.

MTV executives declined to comment on the record about whether the show would continue, The Times says. The current season, which only started production a little more than a week ago, has been suspended indefinitely, the story reports.
