A tough competition series will be back on NBC, with new hosts and some format tweaks. EW.com’s Inside TV reports that the network is bringing back the obstacle course show “American Ninja Warrior.”

“Former NFL player and NFL Network sports analyst Akbar Gbaja Biamila is joining the show as a host, alongside returning host Matt Iseman,” the story reports. “In addition, ESPN sports broadcaster Jenn Brown will join the show as a co-host.”

The program will have a revised “win and get in” format, with competitors who successfully complete their city’s obstacle course earning the right to compete for the title in Las Vegas. Production will begin April 5.

The show will be carried on both NBC and the Esquire Network — formerly G4.

Said executive producer Arthur Smith: “After the success of last season, we knew we had to give audiences more of the thrills and excitement that only ‘American Ninja Warrior’ can deliver. This year promises to be bigger, better, and even more challenging.”
