NBC announced plans to broadcast a retrospective for a long-running series that is about to end its run. EW.com’s Inside TV reports that the retrospective for the comedy series "The Office" will air May 16, leading into the show’s one-hour series finale.

The show is wrapping up its nine-season run on NBC.

NBC News is producing the special, which will include interviews with executive producers Greg Daniels, Paul Lieberstein, and Ben Silverman. The show’s cast members will also appear — except for Steve Carell, who wasn’t available, the piece adds.

The retrospective will include footage of auditions and will include a behind-the-scenes tour of the finale.
