An actress known for her work in two "Breaking Dawn" movies and for the TV series “Alias” has landed a lead role in "The Strain," the high-profile FX drama project from filmmaker Guillermo del Toro and showrunner Carlton Cuse, reports Deadline.com.

The female lead role goes to Mia Maestro, who played Nadia Santos in “Alias” and appeared as Carmen in both part one and part two of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.”

The FX show, an adaptation of del Toro’s vampire novels, has received a pilot order and may also get a 13-episode series pickup, the story says. Corey Stoll plays Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, who investigates a viral outbreak with ties to vampirism.

Maestro will play Dr. Nora Martinez, who works closely with Stoll’s character.
