A young actor who has been getting attention for his work on television, including receiving a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2010, has been hit with a felony drug charge, CNN reports.

Dylan Michael Patton, 20, was charged with selling cocaine out of his home in Agoura Hills, Calif. Patton is known for playing Will Horton from 2009-2010 on NBC’s “Days of Our Lives.” He received a Daytime Emmy nomination for outstanding young actor in a drama series for the role in 2010.

Because his home is next to an elementary school, the criminal complaint includes a charge of selling drugs within 1,000 feet of an elementary school, the report notes.

“Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies arrested Patton at his home, which they then searched, according to the Los Angeles [County] District Attorney’s Office,” the story reports. It quotes a release from the DA’s Office saying: "Deputies allegedly seized cocaine from the residence.”

The report adds: “Prosecutors said they will ask Patton’s bail be set at $30,000. He would face up to nine years in prison if convicted.”

Born in Texas, Patton began his acting career in commercials at age 7, and has made guest appearances on “Cold Case” and “That’s So Raven.” He has been nominated for two Young Artist Awards — in 2008 for his guest performance on “Cold Case,” and in 2011 for his work on “Days of Our Lives.”
