Katie Couric said she received "cautious overtures" from "Today" about returning to the NBC morning show, but says that they "sort of evaporated," reports the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker.
Couric made the comments to Howard Stern on his Sirius XM radio show. She added that she and her former "Today" co-host Matt Lauer "had talked about teaming up and doing a show at some point."
Asked whether she would ever return to "Today," she answered, "Part of me, for me, that was the best job."
She also talked about teaming up with Lauer again, saying that they have chemistry, but with a "brother-sister type relationship."
