MTV and Its Corporate Cousins Get Back to Their Musical Roots

MTV and other Viacom cable channels are working on an innovative program that taps into the “music television” part of their DNA. TVWeek Open Mic blogger Hillary Atkin reports that MTV, CMT and VH1, along with their various related channels, are already under way on an “artist opportunity hub” — a concept that may be poised to evolve into a serious starmaking system.
