NBC’s "Today" show has arranged for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie to co-host the 8 a.m. hour of the show on Friday, when he will appear from the Jersey Shore, reports Deadline.com.

Christie will also be interviewed and will discuss the state’s efforts to recover from Hurricane Sandy.

Christie recently made headlines with the revelation that he had secretly undergone Lap-Band surgery in February to help reduce his weight, as reported by ABC News.

The governor, who has talked about his weight struggles in the past, has lost about 30 pounds since the surgery three months ago.
