Report: Another Judge Leaving ‘American Idol’

May 16, 2013  •  Post A Comment

After the announcement that longtime judge Randy Jackson is leaving Fox’s "American Idol," singer and rapper Nicki Minaj is also planning to depart, reports US Weekly.

Minaj will be focusing on her next album, touring and her endorsements, with a source close to her saying that she had planned all along to judge on the show for only one season.

Minaj joined the series last year, along with fellow judges Keith Urban and Mariah Carey. Despite an ongoing feud between Minaj and Carey, ratings for the show sank this season.

Carey hasn’t yet made her plans clear, while Urban has also been quiet about whether he will return.

As previously reported, the show is said to be replacing all four judges, along with longtime producer Nigel Lythgoe, because of the show’s ratings slump.

  1. Ahh, that’s a shame. uh-huh, right. “Despite an ongoing feud between Minaj and Carey, ratings for the show sank this season.” Ah, people? This is the REASON the ratings have sunk so low. I will not watch again until the skank is GONE!

  2. Keith Urban announced this past Tuesday (May 14) on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” that he would be taking Randy Jackson’s spot on American Idol.

  3. It’s okay, I dont think she did any good for the show anyway. So I’m just looking forward to new entries on this one.
