Winning Powerball Ticket Sold in a Supermarket in a Town of About 12,000 People

A ticket that has the winning numbers in Saturday night’s $590.5 million Powerball lottery jackpot was sold in a supermarket in a town of about 12,000 people.

The town is "Zephyrhills, Fla., a Florida Lottery official confirmed to NBC News early Sunday," reports NBC News.

Zephyrhills is about 30 miles northeast of Tampa, Fla.

The story continues, "Powerball’s website said one winner was sold in Florida, and David Bishop of the Florida Lottery confirmed that it was sold at a Publix supermarket in Zephyrhills."

Here at TVWeek we also found this posted on the Powerball site: "There was one Powerball jackpot winner Saturday and 7,598,546 additional players won prizes totaling more than $84 Million."
