‘Wonder Woman’ Prequel Still Alive

It’s too soon to write off a “Wonder Woman” prequel that has been in the works for broadcast TV. EW.com’s Inside TV reports that “Amazon” is still in development at the CW, according to network President Mark Pedowitz — even though the project was missing from CW’s fall schedule, released this week.

"It’s being redeveloped. We don’t want to produce something” that didn’t do the character justice, Pedowitz said. "It’s the trickiest of all the DC characters."

A casting call earlier this development season said the project was looking for a 5-foot-8 or taller actress to play Iris, a "fierce warrior with the innocent heart of a romantic, and she will fight to the death to make the world safe.”

Pedowitz noted that “the basics” are already in place for the project, the piece reports, but he indicated that the execution was lacking.
