A new NBC series debuted to decent ratings Monday night as the Peacock coasted to an easy win for the night, based on Nielsen overnights for the key 18-49 demo.

TVbytheNumbers.com reports that “The Winner Is …” premiered to a 1.9 average rating in viewers 18-49, winning the 10 p.m. time slot. The program led out from NBC’s two-hour “The Voice,” which was the top show on broadcast with a 3.2 average, dipping 3% from a week ago.

“The Winner Is …” lost just one-tenth of a ratings point from the number delivered by the season finale of “Revolution” in the time slot last week.

ABC was a distant second on the night, and was the only major broadcast net other than NBC to try a lineup of all-original programming. Its two-hour “The Bachelorette” equaled the series low from a week ago with a 1.7 average in 18-49, while its lead-out, “Mistresses,” improved 17% from last week’s premiere to a 1.4.

CBS aired all repeats, while Fox mixed reruns with original episodes. Among its fresh programs, the special broadcast run of FX’s “Anger Management” produced a 0.7 average in the 18-49, matching last week’s premiere, while “The Goodwin Games” lost 14% from a week ago, settling for a 0.6.

For prime time overall, NBC’s 2.8 average rating in adults 18-49 led the way, followed by ABC (1.6 average), Univision (1.3), CBS (1.0) and Fox (0.7). NBC also found itself comfortably ahead in total viewers with 9.9 million, outpacing ABC (5.2 million), CBS (4.3 million), Univision (3.3 million) and Fox (1.7 million).

  1. I was surprised with how much The Winner Is kept me intrigued and interested during last weeks episode. Hoping this week brings the same kind of enthusiasm.
