Disney Channels has named an executive to oversee creative development for the Disney Channel Original Movie franchise. Deadline.com reports that the company tapped Naketha Mattocks as vice president of original movies.
Mattocks succeeds Michael Healy, who left Disney in April after spending 16 years at the company and overseeing more than 90 Disney Channel movies.
Mattocks last year served as a consultant for Lifetime, working on telefilms such as "Betty and Coretta," "A Killer Among Us," "Twist of Faith" and "House of Versace." She previously was head of development for Gary Ross’ Larger than Life, and before that worked at Paramount Pictures, the story says.
