NBC Takes Wraps Off Prime-Time Game Show Rollout for Fall

NBC unveiled plans today for a fall 2013 rollout for a new prime-time game show. Deadline.com reports that the network will debut “The Million Second Quiz” Monday, Sept. 9, at 8 p.m.

“The contest, where time equals money, will last 1,000,000 seconds or nearly 12 days. With more than $1 million cash as the grand prize, the live competition show will air each night at in the same time slot until September 14 and then pick up again on September 16 until its two-hour September 19 finale.”

The game will feature contestants living inside a giant hourglass-shaped structure in the middle of Manhattan.

“Its walls will be made out of glass so the contestants and the game play is visible from the street,” the story reports. “The four contestants that stay in the game the longest will also live in the structure, literally playing the game 24 hours a day.”

Viewers will also be able to play at home, with a chance to win a trip to New York for an appearance on the show. NBC affiliates will also get involved, featuring participants from their local area.

The show comes from All3 Media America, Studio Lambert and Universal Television, with Stephen Lambert, Eli Holzman and David Hurwitz executive producing.

  3. I’m with Rich. David Lefforge owns and operates that awful catering outfit in Michigan. He, of all people, shouldn’t complain about NBC-TV or anything else. He should focus on getting more roach spray.
