Ouch: Creator of NBC’s ‘Community’ Sounds Off About the Show’s Recent Season

Dan Harmon, the creator of the NBC comedy series "Community," had harsh words for the show’s fourth season. In his latest Harmontown podcast, he noted that he finally watched the season, in which he wasn’t involved after getting booted from the show a year ago, reports TVLine.

With Harmon off the show, many observers felt “Community” lost its edge. As it turns out, Harmon agrees.

He had some unkind words for season four. "I guess I already knew this, but apparently I’m a genius,” he said. “I think I feel pretty comfortable in expressing that [season four] wasn’t my cup of tea."

Referring to his replacements, Moses Port and David Guarascio, he said, "It’s not somebody doing what they do.” He added: "It’s very much like an impression — an unflattering one. It’s 13 episodes of people doing, ‘Derpy, derpy, der, I’m Dan Harmon, der.’”

He said he felt his replacements "didn’t know what they were getting themselves into." Still, he said, "They tried their best.”

As we reported last week, Harmon is back on board as showrunner for the next season of the show.
