A scary high-rise incident in Midtown Manhattan became a focal point for TV news operations for several hours Wednesday, while creating traffic problems and otherwise disrupting normal life in New York City.

The two window washers who were trapped after their scaffolding broke near the top of the Hearst Tower were eventually rescued by emergency responders from FDNY.
