Report: CBS Anchor Scott Pelley Looking for New Producer

Jun 27, 2013  •  Post A Comment

CBS News anchor Scott Pelley is reportedly looking for a new executive producer to lift his evening news program from third place, according to the New York Post’s Page Six.

Pelley is said to be seeking a replacement for producer Patricia Shevlin in an effort to boost his ratings. A CBS representative said the story was "ridiculous," adding, "Another day, another silly rumor about the fastest-growing evening newscast on broadcast TV.”

The report cites a source saying, “Patricia has been there for a long time and does an outstanding job, but Pelley doesn’t want to be in third.”

  1. They are looking for a good anchor in Birmingham, Alabama, Scott.

  2. Maybe it is the anchor and not the producer. Check Scott’s Q Score.

  3. How can Scott Pelley expect anything more than third place when he can’t even actually show up for work on a regular basis?
I left Brian Williams for a trivial reason, and am returning. I grew to like Pelley’s approach, to also note that he is constantly a no-show at the anchor desk. If he doesn’t care, neither do I.
CBS should find somebody who wants the job. I like the way Brian says, “I look forward to seeing you right here next Monday.” With Pelley, he’s rare there on Friday to make such a statement.
    CBS, are you still clueless?
