A Weather Channel producer and camera operator is still in the hospital and will undergo surgery this week. TVNewser reports that Austin Anderson will be treated for injuries he received when his "Tornado Hunt" truck was thrown 200 yards by a twister.

"Austin was driving the Tornado Hunt vehicle when the tornado struck. He suffered several broken bones and is in the hospital. Although Austin will have to undergo surgery in the next few days, we are very relieved to report that doctors say he is expected to make a full recovery," the network said in a statement.

As previously reported, the Weather Channel’s meteorologist Mike Bettes and his crew, including Anderson, walked away from the wreck. It marked the first time a personality for the channel had been injured during violent weather.

Anderson’s injuries became apparent once they were admitted to the hospital, TVNewser notes.
