NBC’s "Today" show is shaking things up with a move behind the cameras. TVNewser.com reports that the venerable morning show is bringing aboard Rob George, who replaces director Joe Michaels.

Michaels was promoted to senior director last month and is overseeing a studio overhaul, the report notes.

George worked as the director of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" for the past three seasons, and started out in local news at stations including KOMO-TV in Seattle. He was also part of the directing team for NBC’s coverage of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and has worked on projects for Ryan Seacrest Productions.

George starts Aug. 12 and will direct the 7-9 a.m. hours.
